Nha Trang city hotel or Ninh Van Bay: the boat changes the decision
Compare a Tran Phu city hotel with boat-access Ninh Van Bay, including the questions that change the booking. Check booking details.

The short answer
InterContinental Nha Trang and Six Senses Ninh Van Bay should be compared through access before room style. InterContinental identifies its hotel on Tran Phu Street. Six Senses states that its resort is accessible only by water, with an airport road transfer followed by a boat crossing.
Decide how often you want to leave
Start with the city hotel if your plan depends on a Nha Trang city base. Start with Six Senses if the boat-access setting is part of the holiday you want. This is not a comparison of service scores or an assertion that either is the better luxury purchase.
For a couple seeking separation from city activity, the crossing can be part of the attraction. For a family, it becomes a practical question involving flight times, luggage and the complete transfer arrangement. Travellers planning frequent independent city outings should examine those movements before booking a boat-access stay. Travellers wanting that sense of separation should not expect a Tran Phu hotel to reproduce it.
Price the journey as well as the room
Six Senses publishes separate transfer options. Request the current total for your party and dates, including the road leg, boat, children’s arrangements and any private-service choice. Do not infer that the room price includes all transfers. Ask how a late arrival, early departure or disruption to the crossing would be handled.
For InterContinental, check the name on the confirmation carefully. The official hotel website explicitly says InterContinental Residences Nha Trang and InterContinental Nha Trang operate as separate properties. The same notice says hotel facilities are not available to Residences guests and flags renovation and nearby construction noise. Ask the hotel whether that notice applies to your dates; do not assume a quiet stay from the waterfront setting alone.
Before paying, confirm the exact property and category, occupancy, bedding, meals, total charges and cancellation terms. If access presents a concern, request the route to the actual villa or room, rather than general assurances about the destination.
InterContinental Nha Trang has a signed five-star classification decision, No. 529/QD-TCDL dated 6 April 2023, with a five-year term from signing. That stated term covers the research date, 27 October 2026; this is not direct issuer confirmation of subsequent changes. The Six Senses decision located is No. 712/QD-TCDL of 16 June 2020 with a five-year term, so it does not establish current validity; a renewal has not been located. This is not a personal stay review.
